Here is a feature overview of them with more details below:
Everyone has a different opinion on what makes the best glove to wear for a Tough Mudder event. Full finger coverage or not. Thicker for warmth or thinner for more flexibility.
So I took it upon myself to find the best gloves for a Tough Mudder and other mud running events, such as Spartan Race and Warrior Dash.
So…. here are:
Best Gloves for Tough Mudder
The Neosport premium 3/4 finger gloves are my favorite gloves for the Tough Mudder. Being made of neoprene makes them ideal for when your hands get wet and sweaty while at the same time staying securely on your hands because of the wrist strap.
These gloves also offer cold weather protection, along with cushioning on the palm to prevent blistering and hand fatigue while climbing ropes or scaling walls and money bars.
The Pro Palm Knuckler 100 offers unmatched dexterity with the Madgrip Injection that has seamless construction that allows you to grip the bars and climb ropes with much greater ease than with your bare hands.
The grip combined with cushioning on the palm reduces hand fatigue while your on the “Funky Monkey” or scaling the “Berlin Wall”
FYI, I recommend buying the small/med for a female with a hand span of 8 inches from wrist to tip of middle finger. Most people like to cut the tips off the gloves, but that’s just personal preference.
The “Original Mud Glove” is probably the first glove that was specifically designed to Mud Races. It offers exceptional grip and warmth as do the Mad Grip Pro gloves but I rated them 3rd mainly because they don’t have quite the durability that the Mad Grip Pro gloves have.
They will provide every bit of hand protection that you will need to scale walls and climb ropes. With a very reasonable price it would be hard to go wrong with the Mud Glove.
And for Tough Mudder Women:
A bit more feminine than the “Men’s” gloves but no less performing. These Carharrt Pro Palm gloves will have you overcoming the obstacles at Tough Mudder.
So there you have it – The 3 Best Gloves for Tough Mudder. Any of them will help in gripping the Monkey Bars and climbing ropes while wet and muddy or it’s freezing cold. BUT your going to need the upper body strength to do them. Here is my recommend pull up bar and other workout equipment.
If you are really serious about doing a Tough Mudder, or any other type of “Mud Run” the training program I recommend is the P90X. It has gotten me into the best shape of my life. The program was created by fitness expert Tony Horton, frequent author for Men’s Health.
It is designed to get you into peak fitness in a short period of time using “Interval Workouts”, which have been proven the most effective way to lose weight and get into phenomenal shape. Its a complete program of workouts and how to eat for the most effective results and have you scaling the “Berlin Wall“, running the “Mud Mile” and crossing the “Funky Money“.
If you follow this training plan you should be ready for the Tough Mudder, Spartan Race or Warrior Dash!
